Messed Up Fuses

Okay, so I was working on my 1993 LX and I bought some gauge led lights to replace the old ones. But my gauge lights didn't work. They were all out and I thought it might have been a fuse. I looked up a diagram and moved some fuses around to where the amps on the fuses were the same as the ones on the diagram. Well... I finished and went to test it, and nothing electrical works in my car. The dome light is the only thing on and it is very dim. I don't know what to even begin to do other than buy a new set of fuses?

Check the voltage regulator in the dash as well as the dimming switch. Both are known culprits for dash light issues.

You will need a DVM or Multimeter to do any further testing.
Check the battery - you should see 12 volts at the battery terminals with nothing turned on.

Check the fuses - Pull the fuse and use the DVM or Multimeter on the lowest Ohms range or continuity. Touch the meter probe tips to the fuse metal contacts, one probe tip on each contact. You should see the same resistance on a fuse as you do when you short the meter probe tips together.

You do know that LED lights have polarity unlike the stock bulbs? They need to have the ground side go to the fround tracer on the cluster. What I do is take a 9v battery and 2 small wires and check the polarity of the LED bulb, then mark the - side. Then for each bulb follow the trace on the board to find the ground side and install the buld with the - side to that ground. Worse case is you take out the bulb and reverse it.

Do not change the low alt bulb as believe that needs the resistance of the original bulb to work.
