I currently have a a s-trim with a paxton a/a intercooler with the NX Ntercooler spray kit on it. Yesterday I was at my local tuner shop and the suggestion came up that I should look into meth injection. My question is with me already spraying my I/C (on race gas tune) will it make any huge difference on my IAT's? or give me any huge power increase. I am not very familiar with the meth kits so if anyone could tell me if it it worth it I would greatly appreciate it.

not sure it will help with the cooler already getting with the spray.

Meth or water injection will not make more power unless you make the tune more aggressive, IE run more boost. However, you can do some really cool things with methanol. It has an octane rating of 115, so the more methanol you can spray and the less gas, the better. You do have to account for the methanol in the tune, as it is a fuel and makes the mixture richer.

On our 2.3s, some people rely on methanol injection to keep the AFs happy after they run out of fuel injector. Seems to work well for them, but obviously is a BIG problem if they let the tank run dry.

Anyway, you are spraying the nitrous in the wrong place. It's suppose to go INTO the engine Once I get a 12.X in my 2.3, I'll spray start spraying it. I'll start with a 50 shot and work my way up to 100 or 125.

I have a agressive tune that I switch to when I run c16 race fuel. My question is since the meth bumps the octane up I figured I could run meth without paying through the nose for race gas. Aswell as cool the IAT down a little more before it reached the intake. I just didn't know if anyone runs meth a fmic w/ a nitrous spray kit.

while methanol does have a higher octane (knock resistance) rating, it also only contains about 70% of the energy that is contained in an equal volume of gasoline. So as you remove gas, you have to add methanol, and more of it than the quantity of gas you remove...

Have you ever seen the inside of an engine after it has been sprayed with meth for extended periods of time? Nasty. I wouldnt use it for anything but an all out race car.

since your spraying and also have an a/a intercooler, i wouldn't invest the money in the methanol injection unless you were ditching the spray and intercooler.

What are you talking about? Meth/water injection cleans the internals. My 2.3 burns ethanol and is very clean inside. Meth is just another kind of alchole.

I saw some ugly looking pics of combustion chambers taken by Al Papito (I think thats his name, he had a bunch of 5.4s in 5.0 or one of the other mags). He has a company called boss 330 racing. I tend to take the advice of experts.

These were pictures of combustion chambers that were running meth? What exactly was 'ugly' about them? Did he state the chambers were ugly because of the meth?

i also have heared that running meth injection isn't the best thing for anything but and all out race car. I'm no expert though. I just remember hearing that somewhere. I read the article and i was pretty interesting. I would like to see the internals of an engine that has been using a kit like that over a period of time.
