I heard about this guy with a honda civic that converted his car to methanol just for sh1ts.

Hes rich and doesnt care how much it costs. Not sure if its heavily modded but he does run alcohol. Just cool to say your car runs on it lol...

Maybe the best use of Methanol (for us anyway), is as a fuel additive when trying to pass emissions?

Can straight Methanol be purchased commercially?

you can get methanol by the barrel or the gallon. I use to get 100 gallons at a time when I raced with it.

Out of curiosity where did you get the methanol?

hmmm... would that be safe, put like a gallon or two of methanol in your tank mixed with gas to help pass emissions ?

you can get it at the racetrack, or just contact the distributor that they use to get fuel from for big amounts (that's what i do). They will sell to individuals also.

I was just thinking out loud, don't think there would be any safety issues though.

Can someone from the midwest let us know how much alcohol is added to fuel at the pumps. I can't even remember if it is ethanol or methanol right now. If I were going to add it to my fuel I would start with that ratio, and adjust from there, depending upon what results you are looking for.

Again, I am still thinking out loud.

from the midwest is probably going to be ethanol (corn or grain based). Methanol is petroleum based.
