I'm going to use one of these electric water pumps on the new motor in my car. Its going to be a blower motor with a twin screw, and I notice that Meziere offers three models... one with no pulley, one with a standard pulley and one with an undersized pulley for blower clearance. I want to run an 8-rib belt so which is better, the pump with no pulley at all or the one with the undersized pulley?

go for it then

good luck finding a new belt routing though, just make sure all the pulleys are spinning in the right direction and the belt is the right lengh

Yeah that's what I need to figure out, is how taking that pulley out of the equation will affect the routing of the belt. But also, the width of the standard pully appears skinnier than the width of the undersized pulley. If I use an 8-rib belt, I'll need the wider pulley or no pulley.

^+1 They are EXTREMLY EXTREMLY busy. Yea looking at it from our perspective it seems like their customer service is lacking because they wont call you back....but once you go up there, your whole perspective will change.
NON stop flow of things going on...from UPS trucks arriving, to people walking up asking if they do work on 4 banger focuses, to dyno tuning almost every day, all day.

ALL of the guys up there REALLY work their butts off. And the phones ring ALOT, so there is almost no time to stop and listen to messages. 3 more calls would come in before you get halfway through one message :) . Like geoffsgt said, just keep calling.

It's all 8-rib. I'm also running an a/c delete and have deleted the power steering.

Hmm... interesting. In looking at the way the belt is routed on a 2-valve motor with a KB, I suppose it would be best to stick with the Meiziere with the pulley.

Did you keep the hydraboost and the power brakes? I really want to convert to manual steering to drop the weight and the accessory drag, but the only way to make it worth while to me is to convert to manual brakes so I can get rid of the weight of the hydraboost.

Yes, I deleted the power brakes and hydraboost, etc. I suppose you could delete the water pump pulley, but there would be a long belt distance from the blower down to the crank pulley. I don't know if that would cause problems keeping the belt on or now.

Yeah I don't feel comfortable with that long of an unsupported run on the belt. I'll just get the pump with the standard pulley if its working for your setup. Thanks!

So how do you like the manual brakes? Does it give up the ABS? What brakes are you running? I'll likely switch out the GT brakes for '00 Cobra R front and standared 11.65" Cobra out back. The only thing that is stopping me from going Manual brakes is how much stopping ability I will lose. I too am bolting a Kenne Bell to my new long block and am trying to get close to 600 RWHP so stopping is a definite concern of mine. I wanted a 14" rotor in the front just for the extra braking to feel safe enough to put manual brakes on a street-driven car. What are your opinions on it? Is your car a track-car only or do you put it on the street too?

My car is now a "track only" car with Strange drag brakes up front. They don't have much stopping ability at all. I ran off the end of a 1/4 track recently. I'm having a chute installed this week. The ABS was deleted with the Moser 33 spline axles and C-clip eliminators. You should be OK with Cobra brakes.
