Well its time for a new shifter... I know the steeda tri-ax is good shifter and alot of people have it but, I was wondering how the MGW was compared to it? I was thinking about trying it just for something different but not if its inferior to the tri-ax.

One more question when I put in the new shifter I wanna change my tranny fluid, I have a slight grind when shifting fast into 3rd and wanted to put in either redline or royal purple in it which one is best and how much do I need to get? Thanks

Sorry I didnt mean to post this in 94/95 talk haha whoops

i had the MGW in my 91 GT. It was awesome, shifted very nicely and was very solid. I drove a fox with a triax and it didnt seem as solid, maybe it was installed wrong but it felt lose.

thanks for the input fellas, yeah I was leaning towards the mgw. as for the royal purple should I get the one with syncromesh or does royal purple have that and would it help with the grinding?

MGW. I love mine. It's actually even more quiet than the stock POS.

I have the MGW and love it, but have never compared it to anything other than the wonderful stock piece that comes on our cars.

Oh ya, when you order your MGW, get one of their shift knobs. Slow50Sally got one in the pic above. I got one too (mine's a little different). But MGW makes the highest quality aftermarket shift knobs that I have even seen. And once you lock them in, they NEVER come loose.

Mine looks like this:

I would use Amsoil MTL or Redline MTL. It is for manual trannys that take automatic transmission fluid. They have the right stuff in them for the synchro's to work like they should.

I would buy the MGW.

+2 on everything he said. I like the tri ax as well, either one is 100000000 times better than the stocker.

Steeda, MGW, or Pro 5.0. It doesn't really matter. All are better than the crap we had.

I run the Tri-Ax and I love it.

Your grinding MAY be eliminated by getting a new shifter alone. I know that 2-3 shifts are what aftermarket shifters are really known for.
