Never had a problem with the 2-3 shift. It's practically unmissable now.

The blue handle is a bit shorter, probably about an inch - inch and half. The blue handle makes the handle harder to shift, but shifts faster. And the red handle is smoother, but doesn't shift as fast. But we are really talkin peanuts here im sure, so get which-ever handle you want. But I said if im going with a short throw shifter, i might as well make it the fastest one

Smoothness is the same, but a bigger issue there is reachability. Its a little farther away, but it can make a big difference. I think I'd probably have gone with the red shifter if I had tried both before hand, but I actually got used to it and I'm glad I got the blue
