Hi guys I just finished install my MGW shifter in my car, awsome shorter throws, my question is that do you install the small shifter boot that was on the base of the stock shifter or do you leave it off and just use the iner dust boot that uses the four mounting bolts??

Thanks.

Just use the stock lower dust boot with the rubber grommet that mgw supplies.

I can't even remember, honestly. I just followed the directions, and it's quiet and works great.

Henceforward

I didn't use the boot that was on the stock shifter. I believe the rubber grommet replaces the inner dust boot. Pearl02.

I just mine yesterday, and I used the stock dust cover that came off, the one with the 4 bolts.

I did not use the gromet, and mine did not go all the way down as shown in the above picture.

I did it first without the lower boot (stock) and because I have a slight noise there where I didn't with the stock slop, I decided to go back and put it on. No change. It has not affected me either way. If you didn't use it, don't worry about it.
