MGW shifter install

installed the mgw shifter on my mustang yesterday and had a quick question about the boots. I know the outer boot thats held on by the 4 8mm bolts needs to be reused but what about the other rubber boot that is attached to the stock shifter. is that reused?

Didn't you buy the $8 MGW boot? I did and you do need it. It prevents rocks, dust, dirt from getting into the shifter. I had a B and M boot that ripped and I didn't know it. My car popped out of 4th gear sometimes, so I pulled the trans and the shop ripped it down and found nothing wrong with it. They found pebbles in the shifter. I'm a dumbass.
