trying to figure out which headers go with when I slap a Vortech the GT. I'm looking at Bassani mid-lengths or BBK long tubes. What the advantages/disadvantages with either one of them? If it helps any, I'm bolting up Borla Stingers behind it

If you are going to do it just do the long tubes.

You cannot go wrong with Borla Stingers.

That is going to be one hellishly expensive exhaust system!

I have Bassani headers, midpipe, and stinger catback and it sounds quite awesome.

Midlengths:
dont have to remove passenger header to do tranny work
better ground clearance than LTs
much better quality than BBK

LTs:
I suppose slightly better scavenging for more power.

Cons are just the opposite of the pros for the other i.e. pro of midlength is better ground clearance, so the con of LT would be worse ground clearance

Did your Bassani midlengths make your exhaust note louder?

Bassani here....did em after the cams and got a 20rwhp gain...I know the cams were a big reason for the jump but still I'm very happy with the results. Man did they wake this little GT up!

Not much difference between mid-lenths and longtubes... more power in the LT's for sure but they do have their inconveniences.

Save yourself a lot of trouble when it comes time to do clutch/tranny work and get midlengths. The slight difference powerwise between the two (maybe 2-3hp) wont be worth the trouble when it comes time to change the clutch, TOB etc etc.

that's what I'm thinking. Plus, the post where I'm stationed has tank sized pot-holes, and the last thing I what them to claim is my exhaust
