I am trying to decide if I should stick with nitrous or go custom single turbo.... I am looking for mid-low 11's is it possible with this combo????

306
Trickflow Intake
Trickflow stg1 camshaft
Ported e7's 1.6 rr's
bbk long tubes O/R h pipe with flows
walbro 255 w/regulator
NX 200 wet shot
4.10's
t5 trans
M/T dr's

Why not put the money towards better heads instead of a turbo?
Probably cost you 1/5 the price. Then you could use your juice and run low 11's, and still of spent way less.

By the time you complete a turbo kit, it costs between $4000-$6000 dollars.

i agree ..... the car could go even faster than high 12's on motor if its light enough .

e7's are really not that bad done up ( yes costly ) ...

but a 200 hit makes up for the heads even tho there not bad ..

Go with the turbo over the nitrous. The power is always there, and it can be done for a LOT less than $4-6k when completed. GreenMustangGt over in the 94-95 section did a remote mounted twin turbo setup (turbos are in place of the mufflers), and he dynoed at 331hp/380tq to the wheels on only 5 PSI, with the ability to turn it up on a whim. He's running an Explorer engine, complete with untouched GT40P heads and a Crane 2031 cam. His total cost was in the $1600 range for the twin turbo setup, getting quite a bit of stuff from Ebay, and said it could've been less had he not wanted the specific turbos he used. Here's a link to the thread from the 94-95 tech section, detailing his build progress: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=571566

I can appreciate the effort and enginuety, but this car could of probably made around 260 to the wheels NA, then you go and add twins, and it only makes 330rwhp.
You can make that NA on a stock 302 shortblock. So why the hell bother doing that to your car. It's also not good as a DD.
It's also not the easiest back yard project.
Compare that to a normal turbo setup that would easily make over 400+rwhp on almost any engine combo.
That car is also probably low 12's, not mid 11's.
NO insult intended towards you or that guys project, but i wouldn't get involved in that in a million years.

2000XP8, You seem to know whats going on, so I was wondering what your car runs? Any track #s?
Na, no numbers, I've been on the lazy side, and my battery switch does not shut the car off, i also think E town just closed for the year. But same combo on a another lx from same shop that did mine, (same RR style suspension) netted 12.2@114. My car with the 18's should be a bit slower, as for the other car has 5 lug cobra R's.
I know what's going on, because my buddy owns a mustang shop, and i spend about 10-20 hours a week hanging out there, since 1993.

no way. hes running that on DRs, which are probably a taller tire, it will equal out his 4.10s.

My last car didn't go low 11's, more like 11.90's and I was bumping the limiter with a 28" tall tire, an AOD, 4.10's, and a 150 shot. The AOD is geared taller too. A 200 hp shot of juice will make a serious amount of MPH. Even with a rev extender it's not gonna happen with his cam. Sorry Nate, your wrong on this one.
