I intend to have both a street and strip car, ideally one that can go very fast in a straight line, while remaining reasonably astute in the handling department...

Are mideye rear leafs good for this? Or woudl they be too stiff for good traction?

Mid-eye leafs only affect ride height, not spring stiffness.

I have Mustang Plus's 5 leaf Mid-Eyes and the ride height is perfect and the stiffness is not bad at all. Sure beats my old 4 leaf standard eyes that sagged real bad and bottomed out on the back tires over bumps.

Any pictures of the stance... yeah I'm kinda sick of the whole loose saggy rear that scrapes on everything when you have stuff in thet runk and people in the rear seats too...

Stance after front 620lb springs and 5 leaf mid-eyes were added with 15x7 wheels and 225x15x60 tires. Also has the Shelby 1" drop done.

how much are 620lb springs usually? My front suspension is in pretty good shape (as opposed to the rear, one of the reasons I want to replace it) so I don't know if i can spend a whole ton of money on it at the moment (lot going on elsewhere).

Would the car look stupid with 5 leaf mideyes and stock front springs for a few months?

Yup. It will look like the rear is sagging, but you can do the Shelby drop for (almost) free.
