Might as well post something...Has anyone seen a 5.4 4V in an early Mustang?

I've seen several 4.6 Cobra engines installed in early models, but has anyone seen a 5.4 4V installed? The late model guys are all over this conversion, putting Navigator heads on a 5.4. Of course, that won't be necessary much longer after someone wraps a 450 HP 2006 Shelby Cobra GT 500 around a utility pole. This would be a cool conversion.

really the only 5.4's in classics are the 5.0 331 strokers

I understand that there are plenty of 331 strokers out there, but given the fact that there are numerous 4.6 swaps that have been done, I just wondered if anyone had seen a 5.4 mod motor swap. Of course, a DOHC swap as I mentioned would be cool, but has anyone even seen a 5.4 mod motor in an early car? This swap would obviously require a MII suspension, which is not all that great from what I can gather, or maybe the Griggs suspension setup would allow this swap since their website says it allows removal of the shock towers. It would be interesting IMHO. In fact, I once saw a 6.8L V10 in a 94-98 car in a magazine. . . Hmmm.

i've got a pic from a mustang and fords mag of a blown lightning 5.4 in a 65 droptop. dont know if its sohc or dohc.

the 4.6 is rather large, the 5.4 is that much larger. In the end it makes the swap harder for little gains.
