Not in a very critical area, but still not good. Have you called steeda?

Is that part of the pulley or just a dust cover?

good question because i'm not sure. I'm assuming you are asking if that center parts with the crack is a cover, right?

Correct. It looks like a dust cover over the bearing. Sometimes when you slide/tap those on a little crooked, they can crack like that. You can probably get a replacement mailed to you and just slide/tap it on carefully. The bearing is also a sealed unit so I wouldn't think that this is anything to worry about performance wise.

You might also want to take a large blade screw driver and just pop that cover off and have a look at it. Is it plastic or metal and what's underneath? It's not doing any good as it is and you'll need to replace it anyway.

I'll have to take a look at mine. I don't remember having that cover at all.

Did you do the install? I don't think that's a part of the Steeda pullies.

if its a plastic cover it could be a scratch in the plastic and may not have gone all the way through.... just a thought before you spend money....

I have an '01 GT and mine looks exactly the same. The pulley is not cracked - the hub for the pulley is. And it is not harmful for the engine. It's the hub that thepulley mounts onto on the water pump. I also have the steeda UDP's , and if anything, the pulley is actually keeping the pump hub from further cracking by keeping it compressed.

I was thinking that. If I remember correctly, with my 2001 GT I think it also had that crack. It looked so familiar, but I still took a pic and posted it on here.
