Last week bought '02 GT with recently installed Bassani X pipes and AFT CATS. No MIL eliminators had been installed. The MIL was on from the time I bought the car and I ordered a pr of MIL eliminators. Car had 3200 miles on it when I bought it and I've put about 500 miles on it since. Drove car this morning (MIL eliminators have not yet arrived) and MIL was not on. Tried restarting several times and MIL didn't come on. Any ideas about what's up?

Do you mean that you havent installed the MIL eliminators and have had the car running without the "service engine soon" light comming on? and there are no Cat's on your car?.. If that's the case it is possable that your car is just running really clean for that short period of time, I wouldn't push it. :D

Hey dose anyone know if a MIL will burn out if water gets in the connectors?

Gosh I hate to display such ignorance but I'm new at this so here goes. I'm not sure if it has cats! I can read Bassani on the exhaust system, there are very small round "mufflers" before the X and large muffler-looking "boxes" after the X ... are those the cats? If so, are MIL eliminators typically only necessary if the system does NOT have cats? I was told the exhaust system on my car required MIL eliminators simply because it was an after-market "off-road" system ...

Regarding burn-out from getting wet, I read they shouldn't burn out from the connectors getting wet but still the connections should be protected from getting wet "just to be safe".

You need the MIL eliminators if you are running with no cats or with some high-slow cats. There have been times where the computer resets the codes and shuts off the check engine light
yes those smaller "muffler" attached to the x pipe are cats. i dont know if they are high flow or not though. And I have also heard from companies that water can get into the connections on the MIL eliminators. My plan is a little electical tape.
