2 questions:

1) My car runs at 230 city/traffic driving and 180 highway. I recently invested some $$$ in the cooling and installed a brand new stewart water pump, 180 stat, and fluidyne 2 row rad. It improved my cooling in such a way that when I get on the highway it cools much much faster and runs a bit lower if I dont stops a lights all the time in the city. However, it still creeps up to 230 the the fan starts at 230 drops to 220 then 230 and so on until highway or turn off. It kind of sucks cause I was hoping all that $$$ was going to fix it! But I think it was worth it in the long run :)

2) Pinging, the most annoying noise in the world :( I noticed that my cars does not ping if it does not get to 230. So if I drive on the highway and go strait home from there it reaches 200-210 but does not ping on acceleration. However, if I get some traffic and it gets the 230-220-230-220 rollercoaster, then it pings above 2500rpm. Even if it cools back to 180 after highway it pings (less put still there). What is the link between temp and ping.

BTW I run 92 octane, timing at 10, stock engine except for complete bassani exhaust :)

Can I install a manual overide on the fan so I can start it manually from the car? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and sorry for the long one.

Somethings wack???

Mines built some, which tends to make em run a tad warmer...i run the stock 192 stat with the stock radiator...my temp gage NEVER goes over 204, thats stuck in traffic on a 85 degree day just idling...your running 230??? thats hot for those upgrades...
