Hey guys, I have some questions about my 1995 V6. On my last tank of gas, I calculated that I was getting 22 mpg. Is that decent mileage for these cars? It was pretty much all city driving, and the car is a 5-speed. This is the first time I have actually calculated my mpg, but I usually get pretty much the same amount of kms to a tank.

Gas here is about a billion dollars per liter, so I want to give this baby a minor tune up to try to get it running as well as possible. It also has a little bit of an engine shake and I'm hoping a tune-up will help with that. I have been running some injector cleaner through it every couple tanks, but I think it needs plugs and wires and all that good stuff. Which are the best spark plugs to use? I know that the cheap azz copper ones were the best to use in my old 4 banger, but I'm not sure about this one...Also, how hard are the plugs to change? I looked at them and they don't look too bad, but from personal experience, is it a huge PITA or not so bad? I will definitely get good plug wires from the dealership, no cheaping out on that lol. Only the best stuff for my baby.

What else is good to do for a tune-up? I am thinking of doing plugs and wires, and the PCV valve. Anything else I should do at the same time? I just cleaned my K&N, so I don't have to worry about that for awhile.

TIA.

Thats the milage you should expect from a 5spd v6 on a lot of city driving. Sounds like your car is running fine. I used to have a auto v6 and it got considerably worse milage than my friends 5spd v6.

5-spd V6's get VERY good highway milage also. My friend's drives from Sacramento to Chico constantly in his '02 v6. He gets 28-29mpg on the highway.
