I'm looking for mirror ideas for my 67 and wanted to see if anyone had ideas. I like the Eleanor types. I also might like a more modern mirror with electric remote adjustment. Anyone?

I like the retro styling, the rotunda bullets for example but I also don't mind a more modern shape and body colored instead of chrome.

Personally I wouldn't mess with electric mirrors. They payoff just doesn't seem worth the effort to me.

I need to look to see what rotunda mirrors look like. Thanks.

Here's a shot of one from Jay's website:

Totally an old-school unit, probably not what you were thinking of. They were used on Cobras too.

I have a '65 coupe, and I used electric mirrors from a fox body convertible ('91 model GT, IIRC). I mounted them on the upper side of the door instead of the channel in the body line where the factory mirrors are located. I painted them body color as well.
I wish I had pics to offer, but my car is 2.5 hours away. I got the idea from a car owned by Danny Bahn (spelling?) from DB Performance. His website does not currently show the car, but he had a slick, bright-yellow '65 coupe that was featured in, I believe, Mustangs Illustrated back when it was still in print. If you can find a pic of that car, you'll be able to visualize those mirrors. I still think they look awesome, and I've had them on my car approximately 10 years.

The fox 'vert mirrors are the same as Escort GT mirrors (which also have the same halo seats as the '85-'86 Mustang GT's). I did the mirror deal several years before Danny did his (like '88 or '89), have also used them on a Ranger as well. Sort of a flag style mirror. If your a chrome guy, you can get similar mirrors off a Lincoln, they may even be heated.

Thanks. I also noticed the 90's Pontiac Bonneville has a square mirror similar to these. I'll go to the junkyard this weekend seeking Fox Stangs (and Escort GT's)

I like the 71 to 73 ones on the early models. There was a right up in MM of M&F some time in the last year and they look good.

Similar to what Edbert posted are the Talbot Jrs. Which were also used on Cobras and many other small roadsters of the day. It is what I am using on my 68.

The 05 new Mustang mirrors are shaped like the Fox mirrors. I like it.

I picked a couple of 76 Granada sport mirrors for my 67 FB Restorod, painted them the same as the body and I think they look great! They're both remote too!

Although nothing is impossible they would be tough to put on a classic. Mainly because they do not mount on a pedestal, they come straight out from the corner of the window where our quarter vents are. So do most mirrors these days, even the ones on my truck do that.

I meant to say the Foxes looked like the 05's and that I liked the shape. I found the same thing when I started looking at mirrors. They all are window mounted and not body mounted as is my car. The foxes do look like they'd work and I like the shape (like an 05).

Yeah, that get's two votes, I picked up a set like these for my car too some time ago. They used one like this on the old race falcons except the base was painted body color and just the mirror head was left chrome. I used to have 70's aftermarket chrome mirrors on my car that looked just like the stock color keyed ones, they are pitted and beat though. I was tempted to go with the correct body color ones, but particularly for a convertible, I like the extra chrome better. The orignal bullet design as edberts is cleaner, but I wanted every extra square inch of mirror I could get.
