Hey guys I am looking to put a new radiator in my 92. The car is an SSP model and the radiator is starting to show some signs of build-up. So since it is stored for the winter season I figure that this is a good time to change it out. I was looking at the Ford Racing M-8005-C piece from Latemodel Restoration Supply. My car has a manual trans but the current radiator has the cooler lines for the power steering, and I would very much like to keep them. I looked at the Mishimoto but can't seem to find one with a cooler built in and I do not really want to put an external cooler on.

Does anyone here have the Ford Racing piece and what do you think of it (i.e. fit, finish, cooling, construction)? Photos would be helpful too. The only concern that I have is whether or not my stock shroud with still fit and not strike my new fan.

Any other radiator suggestions would be welcomed too.

They are both great radiators. There are people on here that swear by the FRPP radiator, and that will probably be my replacement for my current AFCO radiator. They FRPP also has the provisions for power steering cooling lines. If you don't want an external cooler, the FRPP will probably be your only choice. It's a quality piece.

I purchased the LMR cooling kit (Mishimoto) about a year ago which came with the dual fans, and radiator, all the extras and I was happy with it. It fit well with plenty of clearance (but again I ditched the stock shroud and manual fan). I took a gamble on it as I heard others in the sn95 realm complain about them having defects and leaking but haven't experienced anything negative with it other than needing to run an aftermarket catch can and making it recirculate. I never seen them come with ps cooler lines but again maybe I'm out of the loop now.

I have the Mishimoto radiator too. Idk why people complain, my welds were done perfect, and it fit in with no problems what so ever. Oh and I'm still running stock fans on it too, so they'll definitely fit. I'd definitely recommend getting new hoses if you're switching your radiator though. I made the mistake of doing them at 2 different times and I could have definitely saved myself some time and swapped out the hoses at the same time as the radiator. Good luck with everything!

OK now for another question. My engine is not highly modified and really even though I would love a 100 HP monster sitting in my garage. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I have planned some small mods (Cobra intake and shorty headers and maybe internals whn it goes) in the future but nothing drastic, so do I really need a 2 core radiator or can I get by with a single core aluminum radiator like those in Latemodel Restoration Supply or CJ Pony Parts? My only concern with these is who is the manufacturer? Anyone have experience with these?

I am thinking maybe just the aluminum construction of the single core would give me a little more effective cooling over the stock brass and copper constructed rad. I guess my main concern here is buying a radiator that the construction is less than optimal and it leaks on me. I know that members here have stated that the moshimoto and the ford racing pieces are quality. I am just wondering if anyone has experience with the radiators I list here?

By the FRPP, radiator. It's good for ~200+K miles, and !15+ years. And, is PROVEN in MILLIONS of Ford trucks to last at least that long!

Oh that is funny I guess I did forget a 0. Well anyways I ordered the ford racing piece last night. Thanks again to everyone who gave opinions and experiences.
