OK so I'm on the last leg of my drive home tonight . Wanted to get on it a bit on a back road nice straight run out . Start out hot through 1st when pulling to 2nd my foot got ahead of my hand and i let the clutch out to fast and 2nd would not engage. Got off it right away and still have 2nd gear. So this is the first time this has happened to me usually I can run the gears with no problems. My question is this ,how bad is this for the tranny[ I assume very bad of course] and what long term damage would it cause? Have never had any issues with the tranny in this car 09 bullitt so I dont think it was the tranny syncros thing just a lousy shift. All in put welcome.

You will be fine.. I did a lot worse to my T-45 and your T-3650 is stronger..

LOL I missed gears on WOT upshifts several times.. I also grabbed first instead of third once on WOT upshift and a friend did that another time too. I know that a lot of screw ups but I used to powershift that car many times a day.

Don’t worry about it. It takes a lot more than that to start having issues, plus there’s no other way to learn. I grantee everyone on this board who has a manual has heard and/or felt some horrible sounds and grinds due to their own mistakes. My first attempt to power shift in my old 92 LX made me sick to my stomach the sound that came from my dying clutch. That was my learning lesson that power shifting works a lot better with a nice new or racing clutch and not a 60,000 mile one that’s bite was on the down side. I still twitch thinking about it.
