Need some assistance figuring this one out. Drove the car yesterday, it ran fantastic, no problems, same as it has been for years. Today started it up and it idles just fine. No missing, consistent idle.
Take it out on the road, as soon as I get it to 2000 rpm, car misses and backfires. I changed the cap and rotor, made no difference. Plug wires are seated properly and are only 2 years old, about 2000 kms on them.
I took my MSD box out of the equation and ran it on the stock ignition, it is still doing it.
Other than the distributor, and coil, what else should I be checking.
If it was the distributor or coil, would it nor run like crap at idle?
Thanks.
