mmmmk got my 3.73s, what next?

Hey i got my new gears yesterday, already looking for the next mod to make my car a wee bit quicker. I have a K&N filter in the mail to make my CAI. ALso getting a short-throw for christmas. What do you all think i should invest in next? Not looking towards heads or cam but possibly a new intake. My buddy has a 96 with 3.73s/catback/CAI and he runs 14.3. Could i break into 13's with an intake? THanks for the info

depending on what intake you choose then 13's are possible w/ the right track condtions, traction, and driver ability.

I would look into a set of Longtubes... A buddy of mine ran 13's with his only mods being a Trickflow street intake, LT's, and MAF and TB... Probably some gears as well... Oh yeah.. DR's help a lot...

I would say go for the intake. Maybe a good set of sticky tires, too, if you want to get into the 13's. You got any times right now?

although your not going for heads and cam, you wont be getting a lot form the tintake either then. WIth out aftermarket cam and heads the intake will make 5-10 rwhp if that. Just save up and get the whole shabang and once.



. . . .. and yes i did say shabang. . . .

alrighty, ill think about it. for the question of my times before, my best with my stock mustang with flowmasters and thats it was a 15.007, 2nd time at the track and havent been back since

13's would be tough with intake and your current mods.
If you did the entire upper (MAF, TB, and Intake) you may get it. For now, I would only go with a Cobra, Trick Flow Street or Edel Performer Intake. These are good for cars with stock heads and no power adder.

W/ a Cobra Intake and a 76MM C&L Mass air system w/ stock heads and cam I gained 21 RWHP.

you just backed up what i was gonna say, vib dynoed like 20 hp from a performer intake as well ?right?

Woah thats exactly what i ran with Gears/CAI/Catback 14.31. Then add the edelbrock performer i was hittin 13.90s. You can do it man.

Yeah, Vib got 22 rwhp for the Eddy Performer in stock heads and cam. I got a big hit from my Performer when I put it on. Second best hit I got, gears being the first.

I also vote for the performer, thats your next best mod. Maybe a throttle body and MAF if you can afford one. Then move onto the exhaust. I didn't feel too much in HP with headers and an H-pipe.
