Mobil 1 0w20 in a 2000 GT

Is this oil safe to run in my 2000?? would assume it is good for a little extra hp.

yes it is safe to run however i dont see the advantage of using it. the amount of power you would gain would be offset by the lack of protection offered by tthe 5w30 oil.

It would probably be ok,but I would stick with 5/30

We're running the 0W-20 in both our GTs, but will likely switch to a 5W-30 when we do the next change.

You might consider 0-30, although it is hard to find sometimes. If you go to the Mobil 1 web-site you will see that the 0-20 is not approved by ford for some reason, but the 0-30 is. When its all said and done, it probabaly wont make that much of a difference anyway. As a side note, I have been running the 0-30 for over a year with no problems, and no noticeable performance increase

0w-20 is a replacement for 5w-20 it fine!

i personally never use the 20 weight oils. i just havent seen enough long term results to want to use it. 5w30 is fine for my car all year long.

0-20W is fine for your car. In fact if you look it up in the owner's manual you will find the specification code Ford recommends, and Mobil 1 0-20W meets it. I'm using it in my own car.

I use 15W50 Mobil 1. It says on the back it is designed for muscle car applications as well as turbo'd and supercharged cars. Is this too heavy??

unless you are running a turbo or supercahrger with lots of boost than ya its too thick. i would use a 5w30 for most applications. you want the first number to be lower, like a 5 because thats the viscosity when cold. so you would oil up in the cams on a cold start as soon as possible.

0w20 Mobil 1 in my bullitt, no performance increase, or problems. The oil meets specifications set forth by ford. On the Mobil 1 bottle it even says recommended for Ford applications.

I started to use Mobil 0w20 at 3,000 miles. I used to use Mobil 5w30 in my 02 GT and it ran fine. I'll stick to the 0w20 with the Mach.

I put 0w20 Mobil 1 in last weekend and took my car to the track and destroyed the rear end! (Plus a couble of other ad ons )

I ran a X Pro 5.0 car 4 years ago and talked with Billy Glidden and he was running 0w oil, the stuff looked like water and had other secret additives that was specially blended for him that I believe came from Red Line.

0W20 is no problem for our cars

ok, thanks, I will use it then. I guess the main reason is because I am going to college in the Black Hills in South Dakota, and the winters are bitches there.
