Mobile 1 5-20 is hard to come by. What are you using instead of M1 Full Syn. Is 5-30 acceptable or did you switch brands? Thanks, Frank

I found a PepBoys that has M1/5-20. That's for the replies. I'll keep the 5-30 in mind for the future.

One of the reasons, yes.

There's nothing wrong with 5W-20. A good percentage of new cars are recommending it's use.

Idt it matters much if you keep it clean.but dont u think thinner oil builds oil pressure faster and flows better during start ups?

I saw a comparison article saying heavier oils produce higher pressure but the difference isn't significant. Thin flows easier but this doesn't necessarily mean higher pressure. Other things equal, thinner oil would have a slightly lower pressure.

Thats why the recommend it. 5-30 is what all the NEW GT's, GT500's recommend.

There was something said about the thicker oil could kill the valves. 5-20 is recommended on my year(02). Regardless I let the engine come up to temp before I exceed 2500rpms.(Prochargers instructions)
And I do not do high revs with a cold engine

I use Amsoil in both my TBird( 5W30 ) and Mustang( 5W20 ). I was in stores here recently and would have no problem getting Mobil 1 5W20.

A salesperson said the Oil Refinery damage in Texas caused a shortage for now. PepBoys & Walmart were out of 5-20 for a while. However, I went to a difference zip code and the PepBoys had 20 qts on hand.
