Looking to replace my fried stock starter and am looking to gain clearance for headers and lose some weight. My question is which mini starter to get and if there are any mods needed for install. Part #'s and Brand would be helpful.
This is the one I got, pretty small and clockable. Fits on my 65 with 1 5/8 longtubes no prob. Pretty damn light and cranks over my 14-1 motor with ease.
A late model Ford ministarter would install with no mods needed. Just need to add an extra wire to the starter motor relay and move the thick wire to the other terminals. The newer starters use one wire for signal and the other wire for power.
