I have long tube headers and it made a big difference in the sound and performance. I really loved putting long tubes on my car too, it's a good starter mod for building a nice setup for a power adder.

Sound alone= stock or aftemarket H and CatBack

HP and Sound= LTs + H + CatBack

HP only= LTs + X + Catback

how much hp would i NOT gain going with the stock hpipe and the catback adn shorty headers without the x pip..if its drastic ill get the xpipe...but the sound is the deepest with hpipe...should i just get a MAC hpipe or other and will it still produce deep NON raspy rumble

The JBA shorties are the only ones that have showed gains, however with the cost of the headers and the PITA install they are not worth the small gains they do give.

If you are going the header route go long tube or dont go at all.

Really the difference between and X and H power wise is not a ton. The H is has a little more down low grunt but the X is better at higher RPM.

If I were you and wanting no rasp, I would get either the Flowmaster cat-back or MAC catback. Then I would get the MAC o/r H pipe. You should see some nice gains and the sound will be good too.

unfortunately for me, i have to use the stock H pipe. in CA anything but stock isnt legal on 4.6L stangs. so i also have to use shorty headers. im planning on either using the JBA shorties, and then a borla or bassani catback. i will probably run an offroad x pipe when i feel like being louder though.
