Absolutely keep the bar. It keeps the front stiffer, and makes the suspension work like it should. I added such a bar to my 97 Formula and the difference was amazing! (Got the idea from my son who put one in his Z3. That car was already a fantastic handling car and that made it even better.) Subsequently added one to my Mustang - but mounted with the convertible braces.
