i have been real paranoid about emissions here in Florida, my mustang is in no shape to pass. from what i researched you have to have cats, stock headers,a cel that comes on and off(the 88's dont have one), and obviously the sniffer test!

So basically im an automatic fail! i was wondering how it really goes down what are some the cases of maybe under the table assistant some of you guys have gone through with your 5.0s. i will be finally driving this thing before emissions start down here! which might take a while if im lucky. but i cant really cant stomach having this car if its going to be a non road legal track queen....
are any of your 5.0s ommited from inspection due to its age maybe the pre 89 cars since they are at and older than the 20 year old mark?

in ohio they go back 24 years on testing. once it hits 25 you can get a collectors or historical plate an no more e check. the crazy thing here is only around 7 counties out of 88 have e check. if i lived 7 miles west of where i live now non of my cars would need it. here they only test in "poor air quality" counties, so guys with muscle cars just register them at a friend or relative's house in another county.

I know FL did not have emissions in 2004 when I lived in J' ville. When did they start emissions?

no emissions, dropped in 2000 and not since the 70's in my county

I do believe that every vehicle purchased before 2010 will be grandfathered in. you cant expect an entire state to retro fit all their cars overnight.

if you are that paranoid buy another civic

MA just got rid of the sniffer test on pro OBD vehicles. So EEC-IV Mustangs before 1995 no longer need to take the sniffer test.
