Most boost you can run on an vortech A trim ?

I think you can get it to make 12lbs of boost on a motor with heads and a cam. 400rwhp or more can be made. The boost #'s depend on the engines airflow. The bigger the intake, heads, and cam the less boost you'll see. Without a doubt an A trim is good for an 11 second combo with the right supporting parts.

with my setup (my sig) if i put on an a-trim w the regular pulley(that comes with it) how many horses would i gain? ft lbs? currently i have around 225hp & 315 ft lbs? any response would be nice

my cousin has A trim and whe made a home made 2.40" pulley and makes 10 pounds of boost!
CORRECT

5 pounds...
CORRECT

You may get around the 300hp mark with the stock 3.33 pulley.:nice:

I due believe if you try to surpass the 10lbs you will be spinning the compressor too fast and it would not be very efficient. I have ran a 2.95 pulley and gotten around 8lbs before.;)

You can decrease the pulley to gain boost, but only to a point, than you put it out of its operating range and will be sacrificing boost efficiency and the life spand of the compressor.:nono:

P.S don't let the a-trim's whine get to you it can drive the average man crazy.:bang:

The issue is overspinning the A-Trim beyond the bearing capabilties or the efficency range. Usually 10psi is easily obtained with a 2.75" blower pulley, 7" crank pulley on a H/C/I combo. We have easily made 430RWHP with the A-trim in the past. With the pulley combo listed above we were heavily overspinning the blower @ only 5800 motor rpm and barelt making 10psi.

Vortech has a calc on their site to show you the impeller speed at a given rpm.

Remember boost is relative, more psi does not mean more hp......

The other issue to consider when asking how much boost a supercharger can make is exactly what the displacement of an engine is. I believe that the same SC on a stroker motor will not make as much boost as a non stroker unless the super charger is picked with the larger cubes in mind.
