well im faced with a decision i seen in other posts that its easier to pull the motor and build it and re-install it as far as everything going back together easily....but my friend has several small block's laying around he said i could use one...this could get me going a little quicker on the build and let me drive my car this summer what would you guys do???

If you can get one cheap or free and plan on having a builder stroke it then that is a good option.........keep driving the car and have the engine done.....

just do the obvious, keeping track of how things came off, and bolts/wires. You'll be fine and remember you have :SNSign: .....lol.

It would be easier for you to have the engine done and beside your car and when you pull the old swap all the parts.........not weeks of trying to remember where it all goes.......

Trav

sbf's have not changed all that much since ........................
they came out in the 60's at a size of 221 cubic inches

Your block is no different than a Fox

You could have a friends block all done up in shortblock form
and
get all set and ready to be swapped

You pull your entire motor
then
easily swap heads, intake, and all accessories to the new block
and
put the entire new motor back ... all in one weekend

I understand your concern
since you haven't done this

Here is where it's good to have a gear head friend
who
has a bit more experience than you
