motor help needed

I asked if the oil pan gasket end seals need to be tight up against the motor, or if there is usually a little slop. Please help me, I don't want to be leaking oil everywhere.

The ends should be drawn up tight when you tork the bolts.
when loosely first installed there is a small gap that will close.
