Motor mount...

Can i change it with the engine still in the car...

Yeah you can you need to diconnect them and jack your oil pan up with a 4x4 or 2x4 piece of wood. Make sure you put them on the right sides they are side dependent.

So, you put the wood directly under the oil pan? It won't damage the pan?

Mine didn't.....if you put the block of wood vertically it might.

I wonder if anybody else did it this way?

Also do i have to loosen both mounts only one of mine is bad?

Just stock replacement for now because they are free from autozonne

Jrichker has a nifty write up on doing it.

Make sure that the new mounts' fasteners will accept the stock nuts. Sometimes they change from SAE to metric on parts store mounts. Also I would use vert mounts (ask for any 87-93 vert mount, or any mount for a 93, since Ford switched to the vert captured mount by 93 for all foxes).

You could put an auxillary jack under the bell housing to relieve some stress on the oil pan.

Might have to do it yourself (you probably came across his post while searching about motor mounts before starting the thread anyhow).

I am on dial-up and this site is loading really slow (too slow for me to hunt through threads).
