i'M DOING AN ENGINE SWAP TO A 302 REBUILT LONG BLOCK. I'M ON A REAL TIGHT BUDGET SO IM LOOKING FOR SOMETHING IN THE 40-60 DOLLAR RANGE FOR THE MOTOR MOUNTS?

cAN I HAVE SOME LINKS TO WHERE I CAN GET THEM

bY THE WAY ITS A DAILY DRIVER PUSHING ABOUT 270HP

You can get solids for about that, but being a daily the vibration might bother. Some people don't mind it and some people do. Or you can pick up some convertible mounts from your local parts store. They are better stronger than the regular ones.

Convertible mounts (from the factory) were encapsulated where as the hardtop mounts were not. All of the aftermarket units are similar to the convertible mounts.

Let me look for some links for you

go to www.cjponyparts.com They have some there that might fit your budget.

Here's a picture of my motor mounts:

I know they're cracked, so I should replace them, right? I don't really *have* the $150 for poly-urethane mounts, but I would buy them if I really should.

I guess (from reading above) solid mounts are harsh, where are convertible mounts are in between stock hard top mounts and poly mounts?

Would it be correct to assume harshness in this order: (Most harsh first)
Solid
Stock Fox Hardtop
Stock Fox Convertible
Aftermarket Poly

Is that correct?

If that's true, I guess I could live w/ the convertible mounts?:shrug:

James, the vert mounts became standard by the end of the fox run - I doubt their that stiff (I obviously have them in my vert - I dunno' what hardtop mounts feel like).

I paid ~50 bucks for all 3 (motor and trans mounts) from AZ - that's another option (I wanted poly but wasnt about to spend the cash for them).

Yeah, I guess I must have complicated things with the list. I meant that the most harsh were the solids, less harsh were stock hard tops, less harsh still verts, and the least harsh were the poly's.

I think I'll go w/ verts. Thanks guys.

The verts will be fine, but the list is out of order still:

Either stock mount=soft
Urethane=firm
Solid=solid

for 30 bucks more so for around 90 bucks you can get come prothane mounts from summit. I wouldn't cheap out on motor mounts they are very important.
Add the Tranny mount (which it's suggested to replace the tranny mount with the motor mounts) and it's around $150. I don't have it. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Just picked up some new poly mounts for $50. Look around there are plenty of people who go with solids or just dont feel like replaceing the origionals.
