I'm nearing completion of my 351W rebuild, and in anticipation I bought a set of rebuilt motor mounts off of eBay. They were advertised as II mounts, but when I compared them to mine, they aren't. They bolt up to the motor just fine, but they are wider where they fit on the frame mounts, and the spacing is different.
So, I was talking to the shop that did my machine work, and sold me a lot of the parts I'm using, and they want to try fabricating some new mounts for me. They know how difficult it can be to find II mounts for a reasonable price, and they already make a swap mount for big block motors in Ford trucks/Broncos (which I bought a set of). Of particular interest, the owner said he might try to do a polyurethane set. Has anyone run poly motor mounts before? Would anyone be interested in trying some out?
It will be a couple of weeks before I have more info, but I told the guy I would mention it in the forums to see if anyone else would want to order a set.

I was looking for some poly stock to rebuild my mounts with. I have 2.3 mounts though, different than what most of you need.

The stock rubber is so loose that I actually have my upper intake rubbing my hood some times. Oh, well, keep it above 6000rpm's and I'm find .

Does anyone have the contact information for the guy who's selling the rebuild kits? I'd like to source some poly stock to machine down.

Define wider.?

From what you post, fill in the gap with a washer or washers.

Not exactly "correct" but better than beating your self up.

Spacing ? Oi??

Oh, motor mounts, not mounting my Motor ..

No thanks, I have a different work around.

Thanks for the offer.

Thanks more for reminding me of Polly Jo ...

Yes, you're right, I could put washers or a spacer in there. It's just that the portion of the mount that rests on the frame perches is 3/4" or so wider than the perch itself, unlike the II mount which fits snugly on the perch. But, I've spent so d**n much money on this motor, I'm not about to half-ass anything now.

And I'm always happy to conjure up good memories....
