I'm about to get an oil change on my 99 GT with 37 000 kms. I'm either going with AMSOIL or MOBILE 1 SYNTHETIC. My question is this. Ford recomends 5w-30 but should I go with 10w or 15w for the summer heat ?

5w-30 in a synthetic oil will not be too thin for summer usage. If I had to tell you to choose between the two, I'de say go with Amsoil. They've been shown to be Mobil 1 in friction tests and most importantly, Amsoil's oil comes from right here in the USA.
