Motor Swap.. questions!!! help!!

Ok, so, the next step in my manual is to disconnect the fuel lines running from the engine to the chassis.. i haven't taken a look yet, but iwas wondering if anyone could tell me how many there are and where they're located. (just so it could save me time).

oh yeah, this is on a lincoln mark vii... but i'm pretty positive it's the same set up.

Follow the fuel lines from the fuel rails towards the passenger side.
There should be spring lock connectors somewhere along the line.
You will need spring lock remover tools. Like $10 at pepboys.
You probably won't fully understand them until you are actually doing the work, so don't sweat it when you look at them.

Ok, so i chased down the fuel line connectors and ****, and you said that i'd need a tool so i went out and bought one.. but maybe i'm retarded because for the love of me, i can't figure out how this **** works.

from what i can tell those ^^^ are the fittings. there are two of them right under the car right next to the block.

this ^^ is the tool i bought. it also comes with a 3/8ths "wrench" as well that is blue.

are these the right tools and right fittings? or am i retarded? i'm really pissed because i've been running around trying to figure this **** out for about an hour and a half now.

mello out and smoke a bowl! the fuel lines are a mother to get off even with the tool. it's hard to see in the pic if thats the right tool or not? IF you really dont need them then just cut the f'ers with a pair of bolt cutters then you can work on them easier out of the car to disconnect them? Did you tell them you need a ford fuel line remover tool? I have been able to remove them with a really small regular screw driver. Theres a spring around the radious inside the connectors i was able to get the screw driver inside and under the spring pulling as i worked the screw driver around it.peace

hmmm ****.. well, the reason why i was so desperate for an answer was because we were out in the yard trying to figure the ****in thing out for like, an hour... and i have absolutely no idea if it's the right tool or not.


so we just took EVERYTHING else off... like, right now she's all set up to be taken out (allegedly), minus the fuel lines.


so listen, if i'm taking out the engine with the tranny, where should i support it? i'm gonna tie up the engine to the hoist first, put a stand under the tranny to support it, and then disconnect the tranny.

then i intend on lowering the stand and just angling it out.

is that normally how it goes or am i missing something?

Hard for me to say with the trans.
Anytime my engine has been out, my guys insist on take the trans off first, while it's in the car. But this is at a shop with a lift so that task is much easier.
The Trans is only in with 4 bolts holding it to the bell. If you leave the bell on and take off the transmission, the task may be much easier.
