well i have a 1997 4.6L gt and well for the $$ it takes to make a 4.6 FAST i could have a killer 5.0. i already have a 302 motor built that i was planning on putting in a fox body but as the way things are looking now that will not happen. i was wondering what all would have to be changed in order for the 302 to work in the 1997. i know i will need a new tranny and most likely a k-member from a 1994-1995 for the motor mounts and such. i will most likely not do fuel injection but is there anything major that i am missing in order for this swap to take place??

It's doable. You can even use your EEC-V to run it, with some tweaks (do a google search, someone did a 5.0 swap into a 96+ V6 using a 5.0 from an Explorer (complete with coil packs) and the EEC-V from a 97 GT. Remember that the result will be emissions *illegal*, in case you have testing in your area.

I agree with Boss351 though, I'd just find a good condition 95 instead, save the hassle. There really is very little different between a 95 and 97 other than the tailights and drivetrain.

i wont have a prob gettin a EEC-V out of a 94, 95 and the wiring harness and inspection i can get around unless they wont do the sniffer test on the car since its OBII and they have to hook it up to the comp.
