Just wondering how you guys think a standard gas Motorcraft shock and strut compares to a KYB standard gas shock and strut. Price is about the same, the KYB's being about $20 more expensive. Just looking for some opinions. Thanks.
I have KYB's on the rear. I hope to have KYB struts on this winter. I really like them. Makes the car stick better. Course the shocks were 10 yrs old before I ever changed them.
I only replaced my rears as tehy finally broke on me. lol Well .. they lasted for 14 years ...
I don't think you'll notice that much of a difference between the two ... youre probably paying a bit for the KYB name there. I have the KYB's currently, and they work fine.
KYBs are only good as a stock replacement on most Mustangs, they'll ride like hell if you lower the car at all. The AGX adjustables are better, I hear, but if you're paying for those you might as well get Konis or Bilsteins. Might wanna look into Tokico blues, you can get a set for like $270 and they'll be good even when you lower the car.
I don't think I want to ever lower the car, so I am not so concerned about that.
I work at Ford now, so I can get Motorcraft parts at cost. I'm thinking that maybe motorcraft would be the way to go. NoachSHO, you wanna give those part numbers anyway? Thanks.
