Well, I have a set of ARM main BOLTS for the motor I'm putting together. I just realized I'm going to need something to mount the oil pickup to the main cap with. Do I call up summit and ask for 1 ARP stud..or what should I do? Thanks.
You basically have to order 1 stud and an extra nut. I had the same problem. Just tell them what you're doing and they'll be able to figure it out. I think I had to get one stud from the studs they use with windage trays (but I could be wrong).
If you still have your stock pickup tube on there, save the nut and reuse it. It doesnt go through that much stress that you need to find an ARP one for it. As far as the others...
Make sure you use new gaskets and if youre actually putting in a new pump, you might as well go with the ARP hardened oil pump drive shaft. Make sure you read the directions on how to clearance it as well. If youre buying a new ford or melling pump, i would go with the arp hardened shaft, even though most pumps come with a shaft i would go with the arp stuff instead.
Well, I think your talking about the same problem I have... The ARP bolts do not have a bolt with a stud for the oil pickup tube to attach to the #3 main cap...
Well arp does not make a bolt like the one that came from ford, for the oil pickup tube. I used the arp studs on the all the others, and I order ford main caps bolts for the number 3 cap. 16 bucks for the bolt/ stud and 12 bucks for the reg bolt.
I got it from a local ford dealer( Ford racing dealer), Im picking mine up tomorrow..

Thanks...but are you sure that the ARP stud is included with either of those top two links you gave me? I don't see it in any of the pictures of the parts?

Canton racing makes one to mount the pickup to the cap, i dont have the part # here, but you can get it from them directly, just call and they will hook you up!
