mounting tranny cooler w/o stock lines??

I have run a B&M cooler without the stock cooler for awhile now and zero problems.

Well, it's not impossible to get the lines in -- someone did it before.

I am a little ocnfused though -- are you wanting to run new lines instead? If so, just run new lins up to the stock cooler and plumb it in if you want to run it. There's nothing special about the stock lines.

I have mine up front. I don't know if the airflow is that good underneath the car like that or not?

Been running B&M tranny cooler w/o stock cooler and have had zero problems. Tranny runs much cooler. BUT This is with stock stall. When I get my 2800 stall I was planning on installing a 2nd but smaller cooler after the B&M

I don't like the idea of not hacing the cooler in direct airflow -- I think that is asking for trouble.

I would at least fab up some gutter flashing, etc to help direct air through the coil. I actually considered mounting mine in a funky spot, but the spots I was looking were all low (the 94 is dropped so much that I cant get a jack under it) and I was afraid of debris hitting the cooler.

I would note that if you have a stacked plate cooler (or one with a thermostat), it should help to regulate temps (some say trans/hydraulic fluid cant be too cool. I dont know about that. But it is hot-as-all-get-out where I live, so that was NOT a consideration for me. I still retained the stock heat exchanger in the radiator).

also if remote mounting the cooler, I would consider a fan for the cooler (which really should have a fan switch, ergo more wiring and weight and space and PITA).
My two cents.

Since we have trans people here, does anyone know how much heat the stock 'cooler' in the radiator removes once the car is at operating temperature?
