The new 5.0 engine is going in my 86 GT convertible new weekend. I would like to go ahead and replace the motor mounts while it is apart, either with stock replacements or solid mounts. Why do they specify different mounts for convertibles, and what problems could I possibly face if I were to try to use solid mounts for a non vert in my car? It's coing carbed, so I dont think it would make any difference on hood clearance if it made the motor sit a bit higher. Thanks!
