Moved my spoiler back

So I moved my spoiler back and now you can see where it used to be on the deck lid. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to get that off? And it doesn't sit quite flush to the deck lid, but I know the holes are big enough. Any ideas?

Can you get a pic of what needs removed? If it is what I think it is you might need a good wet sanding...

I know what your talking about in terms of the "stuff". Have the same thing on my car, and from looking at it, it does not appear that its possible to remove it. Does look alot better with the spoiler moved back though. I dont have any problems with the spoiler sitting flush either.

Actually there is an easy way to get it off. I did it on both my old 99GT and on my current 00 GT. I used some GS27 scratch remover my dad had sitting in the garage and it got EVERYTHING off. You can't even tell that the spoiler was moved anymore

are ya'll talking about the double stick tape geuw. or scratches, or discoloration of the paint from the sun fading it after time?

I think it's discoloration of the paint. I'll get some pics up.

im in the strip paint buisnes, dont know enuf about paint to talk, but if your car is 3-5 years old and is NOT in the garage ALL the time, your paint will fade! the paint under the spoiler has never been exposed to the sun or the elements and will be like and is brand new , all other body pannels will sun burn, or lighten in color. If it's tape resedue , glue , a cotten ball and isoprople alcohol will take it off with patience

I have marks on my decklid as well. I'll try to snap a shot if I remember when I get home. I hate it but the spoiler moved back is WELL worth it.

When I moved mine back there was some minor scratches and built up dirt and grime. I used some clear coat rubbing compound and a clay bar. All the marks came off and now you can't even tell I moved it.

Love the look. But non-stang folk can't tell (like my wife) the difference

I'm in the paint business and agree with him. Wash it with soap and water first. then get some rubbing compound and take it to it lightly with a soft cloth. 3M makes some good stuff. go to NAPA or Carquest or someplace like that tell them what you need it for and they will help you. Make sure you get a fine cut compound and polish it or wax it afterwards.
