Is there some trick to burning Mp3 cd's?

I put folders full of Mp3s onto a data cd, Put the cd in my new Mustangs player and it spits it back out saying bad cd.

I burn a single mp3 onto another data cd and it accepts it.

Both cd's are readable by my PC as data cds. Is there some trick Im not familur with?

But the manual clearly says that Folders are supported.

My Mp3's are sorted into Artist and then Albulm folders. How am I to find a song on a cd full of 1000 mp's without folders?

That was my best guess. I had problems with my mp3 cd player not recognizing folders, but it didn't specify that they were supported or not.

Im doing some experiaments, I noticed that my mp3 folders have playlist files, Im going to delete these files to see if it clears the problem.

Progess. I did burn a cd with folders and it seems by removing the playlist files it worked I played some songs from various folders, however while changing folders it suddenly said "bad disk" and spit it out.

I suspect the player has song name requirements, perhaps my mp3s have characters in their names that crash the mp3 player.

What did you burn the CD with? Try using Nero, it does something with the filenames if they're too long I think.

Look for filenames in italics when you are abotu to burn the cd.

If it's anything like my aftermarket MP3 player -- you can only have one level of Folders. Sounds like you're trying artist then album, which is two levels. My MP3 deck just treats folders as if they were CD's in a changer.

the Mp3 player in my truck is suposed to work with folders, but have not had good luck. I just burn them all together and no issues on my aftermarket mp3 player.

yes, that is what was causing the problem. In addition my orginization is pointless on the mp3 cd because the cd player does not show the folder names.

I have flattend them all back to just 1 folder per albulm. This allows a degree of orginization.

I was hopeing the cd player would show the folder names, which would make navigation easier.

I;m working this problem right now

I'm at the keyboard right now working this issue: I'm re ripping my CD's at 128 bps. Most of mine were at varible bps at high as 400-500! The player says "BAd dISK"

I went to the store and got the best CD-R's they had 12 bucks for a 10 pak !

I'm going to burn one without folders, and one with folders. I will use a old external 1x burner to get a super high quality burn, if neccessary.

When I get it to work I'll report the results.

btw, the folder is ID'd as F1 or F4 on the screen.

you cannot/should not have songs/folders with the same name, or names too long. If your music is copied not bought, you may have to rename to avoid accidental dups of names.
