I'm considering buying a 99 mustang GT v8.

What's about the best mileage one can get if one drives carefully?

These mods are added if they may make a difference:

Air intake, X-Pipe, and headers.

Thanks

Auto or 5 speed?

I saw normally 22-23 mpg mixed highway/city with more highway with stock gears. I hit 25mpg once. Since the gears I hit 25mpg once, but probaly see more around 20-23 depending on driving conditions.

Light car plus powerful low-displacement V8 engine usually leads to good highway mileage.

I agree though..don't buy a Mustang for fuel economy. There are days where i can burn 1/2 tank of gas within a 5 mile radius

I get 18 mixed on my modded bullitt (3.73's). my vert is stock except for intake and weld in mufflers and it gets 14...go figure. I think cause its slower I am harder on the gas pedal in my vert.
