I finally got my new exhaust setup on. I had a bit of a leak for a day or so before I had a chance to get back under there and adjust some things.

At any rate, the original leak was at the driver's side manifold due to the flange not being evenly tightened. I took care of that and went through the rest of the system making sure the clamps were tight.

After I got all that done, it sounds great and the leak is gone.

Here's the weird part:

From about 3,000-3,500 RPM under wide open throttle, it sounds kind of tinny like there could be a leak somewhere. BUT, if you floor it at 2,000 RPM or so, it sounds perfectly tight and clean. It seems as though there's no leak sound about 3,500 RPM. Is this normal or am I missing a leak somewhere?

It was super obvious when I had the original leak but I find it odd that it sounds like there's a slight leak for a few hundred RPM under WOT.

This system has only been on the car since last Thursday evening so maybe it just needs time to burn in. Does anyone else have that issue? It could all be normal and me just being paranoid, but it sounds like there COULD be a leak. It's just that it doesn't make sense that I can't hear it if I floor it at 2,000-2,500 RPM and 3,500+ RPM in any gear.

NOTE: This is on an '04 Mach 1.
