MSD 2 step with 6A possible?

Do I have to sell my MSD 6a and upgrade to the 6AL to use a 2 step or can I use one with this box. I see the 2 step comes with the plug in for the rpm chip slot on the 6AL boxes. I would really like to get one but can't afford the cost of a new box.

I'm having a rev limiter tuned into my chip but would like something for launching!
