I bought a Jacobs 2000 (has rev limiter) because it will run on much less than 12V. I understand that the MSD won't work if it doesn't get 12V. Since my car is an occasional driver, I expect to have a low battery occasionally. The reviews I've seen on Jacobs have been good, too.
