MSD Plug Wire Routing?

Just changing plug wires and picked up a set of the MSD Super Conductor Wires. Look really nice, probably nicest set of wires I've had going by looks and construction alone.

Anyway, seems that the #8 wire is really too long. Most all the other wires seem to fit really nice. I set up the wires so the #4 and #8 are the longest ones (only two that are both same length). Maybe I did this wrong, or is this a common thing? I don't think I ever had other wires that left this much extra for one wire and fit so good on the others.

Anyone else experience this with these or do I need to try changing a couple wires around?

This is the #31329 set, BTW made custom for 5.0's.

na, most sparkplug wires that come prebuilt, are usually to long anyways, bout the best you could do, is pull of the boot end that goes to the sparkplug, carefully undo the metal clip, cut your wire to the length you need, then trim back about a 1/2" so the main wire, so you have the black inside wire sticking out a 1/2", fold it backwards onto the wire itself, and recrimp the clip, put the boot back on and your done...........hotwheels of turborides.com

I am on my second set of MSD's (i melted one with the header) and both times i got like 11 wires in my set. I had to sort thru them and lay them out on the ground to see which ones were longest to shortest to install them, but mine seemed to fit good. Just make sure u got the ones for a 302 HO, and not just a regular old 302 from back in the day. They are two different kits. I sorta forget but i think mine said it was for a 79-93 mustang right on the box.

Thanks. I looked everything over again and it looks like if I route the wires right up around the valve covers they're just about perfect -- it's only if I leave them hangh a little they seem long.

Still impressed though, nice set.
