Ok I had a digital6+, that I traded for a 6al and some cash since I will no longer need the timng retard feat. now that I have a tweecer. I had the digital6+ mounted under the air filter on the flat floor part under the hood, I have been moving some wires and remounting some things to clean up the wires. I now have the TFI modual mounted on this floor part and there just is not enough room for the fatter 6al box.

1. I want to mount the 6al either on the firewall but how did you guys that did this do it? did you take off the plastic piece ( I see them mounted right above the master cyl) on the firewall to mount it or what?

2. the other idea is to get a piece of plate steel and make a bracket to mount it by the radiator under the radiator cover and have a cutout so you can see the 6al but look clean. Probem is I want to get a bigger radiator someday and don't want to be in a situation were I cannot mount the 6al there anylonger.

I am leaning to #1 right now but am not sure how to mount it there, thanks for any input/ideas on this and sorry for the wind-ed post.

I've got a 6AL sitting in my garage awaiting install, and I've had the same kinds of questions. I thought about putting it on the firewall, but it seems like that's a pretty hot place to be putting an electronic box. I saw a post about someone putting it inside the driver fender -- so sometime soon I'm going to pull the fender liner and peak inside. That might be a great place to put it, if you don't need to see it :).

That is a good idea under the drivers fender, and I have not had the time or weather to do that side yet as far as hiding wires so that would have to be my option #2 and the radiator is now at #3.

but I would like to know how the guys with the firewall did theres.

thanks for the reply HairyCanary.
