Ok, so im looking at my new jegs and im planning on getting new mufflers. im not sure to either go with ultra flo X's which are the x pipe cnnection and the muffler around it. so that means, i dont need the xpipe to be made, or 2 mufflers. everything is right there. I was also looking at the borla XR-1's. they seem pretty good but a bit pricey. oh and the hushpowers HP-2 and last, SLP Loudmouths. I have a reaall hard time trying to decide.

I want the best performing one. im really considering the ultra flo's because its a good deal. but i dont know how they will sound. i want something loud and high flow. Im trying to stay away from they chamber mufflers.

Honestly, I don't see how you're going to get an X-muffler setup to work on a Fox. On a weird application where you've got true duals running closely parallel (usually on applications that never had true duals from factory), yeah, I can see it, but on a Fox ... no. The amount of custom bending work and all it would require would cost far more than an entire ready-made catback. Stick with a conventional setup - headers (stock, shorty, or LT), a crossover (H- or X-pipe), and a cat-back. Use the K.I.S.S. rule.

That being said ... buy a pair of Pypes Violators, clamp/weld 'em on, and call it done.

A Pypes X-pipe is only $160 and the GT catback is $265 at American muscle, plus its all stainless steel.

Where are you even thinking of having a custom exhaust made for a 5.0 Mustang? Unless you're doing some kind of crazy turbo set up, (or cool cutouts on the H-pipe ) theres no need to do that because two-dozen companies already made it for us.

well, ive never heard of that pypes brand. lol. and my bro got his full exhaust (excl. headers and headers installation) with flow 40 series, for 400 bucks total. All aluminized exhaust and xpipe done right there. The guy is pretty well known by car guys in the area.

Any other tips? all appreciated.

They sound far better in person. Most video/audio clips can hardly do them any justice.

lol i went on youtube and saw a vid of a white gt. veryyy good audio and sounds sick as hell. i dont think anyone down here bothers with pypes. everyone i know has the typical 40 series. or maybe a dynamax or thrush. but never have i heard a guy in a mustang say he has pypes. I hope im the first in the area lol. but before exhaust, im going to do suspension work. cause I dont NEED exhaust. Actually, im going to get electric fans next, to get rid of that annoying and veerryyy loud fan. Sounds like a damn helicopter.

if you go with a pypes system get the kind that has the adjustable tails. I have heard that the other kits are a PITA to fit up and require removing material to make them fit.

pypes x pipe is $110 i believe an whatever shipping is from www.bieberfever.com. why not just do that an throw some mac flo paths or flowmasters on it. dont do dumps with flowmasters though you will have a crazy drone between 2 an 3000rpms an you will hate it. good luck with your choice. oh an im bout to order an pypes x pipe myself there good quality an cheap.

Just a heads-up, I wouldn't go for the hangerless design of the Pypes X-pipe. Their muffs are awesome, but their X-pipe design sucks. It's the same as the X-pipes sold by UPR. I had one of their cat'ed X-pipes and the damned thing constantly was sagging, always hung way too low to the ground, scraped on everything, and the cats were welded so far forward that I had to cut a notch out of the tranny crossmember just to make the damned thing fit at all. You need at least ONE hanger going into the tranny crossmember brace to keep the thing from constantly sagging, because otherwise there's nothing to stop the center section from starting to bounce up and down and work itself loose. Also, their X-pipe seems to be an inch or two longer than others, on average, so your tailpipes will stick out farther in back and you'll likely have some clearance problems with the axle and/or undercarriage.

A Jeg's X-pipe would be my recommendation for a cheap and effective off-road crossover pipe. Frankenstang's got one on each of her Foxes, they bolt up VERY easily, fit great, and sound great when coupled with Violator muffs.
