Muffler Options

I put a set of BBK shorty headers and a BBK off-road H-pipe on my '88 5.0 LX, which already had a set of Magnaflow mufflers installed. I expected the car to be a bit louder...but it's LOUD now...which is fine at times, but this is a daily driver that I spend an hour in driving back and forth to work and I suspect I might get tired of the drone eventually. Any ideas of how I can tone it down a little without restricting flow? Any muffler options that are known for being a bit quieter than the Flowmasters?

I have BBK long tubes and BBK H-pipe also. Just installed a set off Pypes violators catbacks. I LOVE the sound but this is just to tell you not to go for these pipes because they are quite loud for a daily driver...

prob look for a straight through style muffler rather than a chambered like flow master. super turbo comes to mind. i run edelbrock RPM series with pipes. dunno if they are still around or not. tail pipes quiet down a system.

+1. tailpipes quiet down your car a lot. I just installed a pair on my car. I can barely notice the cam inside the car now

Thank you for the replies. I'm going to look into a Dynomax Super Turbo cat-back system. It seems to be known as a quieter system that doesn't restrict flow.
